Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral was held on Monday 19th September 2022 which has been declared a national bank holiday to allow mourners to pay their respects and to commemorate her seven-decade reign.
In recognition of Queen Elizabeth II and to enable our staff and their families to pay their respects during this time of national mourning, the Fairthorne Manor site including the nursery will be closed.

Large crowds gathered along the Royal Mile and St Giles’ Cathedral, where mourners will be allowed to file past the late Queen’s coffin from around 5.30pm on Monday until 3pm on Tuesday.
A 22-year-old man was arrested in Edinburgh, Scotland, on Monday after shouting “Andrew, you’re a sick old man!” at the late Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral procession, a reference to the accusations of sexual assault lobbed at the queen’s second son, Prince Andrew.

King Charles III led his siblings as they kept a vigil to their late mother at St Giles’s Cathedral in Edinburgh.
The monarch, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward bowed their heads with their backs to the late Queen’s coffin in a process called the Vigil of the Princes.
Members of the public filed past to pay their respects to the late Queen during the ceremony.
